1. Privacy Statement
1.1. Everyone has the constitutional right to privacy, as such, your privacy is just as important to us as it is to you.
1.2. During the course and scope of the What Women Want Project (“the Project”) the interviewers are bound to come into contact with the your personal information.
1.3. How we collect, use, process, disclose, and protect your personal information in compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013, is discussed hereafter.
2. General Terms
2.1. You are under no obligation to provide any information that you are uncomfortable with sharing and would not suffer any prejudice as a result thereof.
2.2 Your participation is voluntary and without undue influence.
2.3. By partaking in the interview, you consent to have the personal information collected by the interviewers.
2.3.1. You are entitled to request that your personal information be removed from the Project’s database at any time.
2.3.2. You are not obligated to provide any explanation, whatsoever.
2.3.3. You are entitled to request access to your personal information for your consideration at any time.
2.3.4. We will only retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy
3. Information Collection
3.1. During the interview, the following types of information could be considered as relevant and may be collected by the interviewers:
Name and surname;
Age
Education level;
Ethnicity;
Religion;
Home language;
Contact number;
Email address;
Personal opinions.
4. Use of Information
4.1. Although these types of information may be collected, the publication thereof for the purpose of your identification is not the intention of the Project, but rather an analysis of the opinions of women on modern dating.
5. Disclosure
5.1. The publication of any personal opinions might be done under the following circumstances:
5.1.1. With reference to overarching trends of the population studied;
5.1.2. With the use of aliases; and/or
5.1.3. The removal of any and all identifying characteristics that may be traced back to the interviewee.
5.2. In other words, the intention of the Project is explicitly not to single out any interviewee or any opinion they hold, but to study the experience of a larger population.
6. Protection
6.1 Access to your personal information will be highly restricted.
6.2. This restriction includes:
6.2.1. Password protected files;
6.2.2. Restricted access to passwords;
6.2.3. Periodic password amendment;
6.3. Our systems are not invulnerable to Zero Day attacks. However, we take all precautions reasonably available to protect your personal information.
